Projects

Current Projects

These are the projects I am curently involved in.

SOA4All (Service Oriented Architectures for All)

SOA4All aims at realizing a world where billions of parties are exposing and consuming services via advanced Web technology: the main objective of the project is to provide a comprehensive framework that integrates complementary and evolutionary technical advances (i.e., SOA, context management, Web principles, Web 2.0 and semantic technologies) into a coherent and domain-independent service delivery platform.

PeerAssist (A P2P platform supporting virtual communities to assist independent living of senior citizens )

The main scope of the PeerAssist project is the conceptualisation, design, implementation and demonstration of a flexible Peer-to-Peer (P2P) platform, which will allow elderly people (not necessarily familiar with ICT technologies) to build virtual communities dynamically based on interests and needs they share.

Past Projects

These are the projects I have been involved in during the past years.

SUPER (Semantics Utilised for Process management within and between EnteRprises )

The major objective of SUPER is to raise Business Process Management (BPM) to the business level, where it belongs, from the IT level where it mostly resides now. This objective requires that BPM is accessible at the level of semantics of business experts. [more]

Service Web 3.0

The major objective of  this project is to provide the directives, support and coordination of ongoing research and development in the area of networked service architectures, specifically those that utilize semantic technologies, towards the realization of the Future Internet. [more]

SemBiz

The SemBiz project aims at bridging the gap between the business level perspective and the technical implementation level in Business Process Management (BPM) by semantic descriptions of business processes along with respective tool support. [more]

SemanticGov

SemanticGov aims at building the infrastructure (software, models, services, etc) necessary for enabling the offering of semantic web services by public administration (PA). Through this cutting edge infrastructure, SemanticGov will address longstanding challenges faced by public administrations such as achieving interoperability amongst PA agencies both within a country as well as amongst countries, easing the discovery of PA services by its customers, facilitating the execution of complex services often involving multiple PA agencies in interworkflows. More importantly, this infrastructure will exploit SemanticGov as an enabler for total reengineering of PA service provision and propose a paradigm shift of today’s modus operandi. [more]

KnowledgeWeb

The mission of KnowledgeWeb was to strengthen the European industry and service providers in one of the most important areas of current computer technology: Semantic Web enabled E-work and E-commerce. The project concentrated its efforts around the outreach of this technology to industry. Naturally, this included education and research efforts to ensure the durability of impact and support of industry. [more]

 Adaptive Services Grid

The Adaptive Services Grid (ASG) approach for semantic service provisioning is a solution to implement agility and adaptiveness promised by Service-oriented Architectures. Based on available standards, a solution for the complete service provisioning lifecycle has been built. A key concept of this solution is the usage of semantic information about services to automatically plan, enact, and monitor service compositions to fulfil user requests. [more]

DIP

DIP’s objective was to develop and extend Semantic Web and Web Service technologies in order to produce a new technology infrastructure for Semantic Web Services (SWS) - an environment in which different web services can discover and cooperate with each other automatically. DIP’s long term mission was to deliver the enormous potential benefits of Semantic Web Services to e-Work and e-Commerce. [more]

DERI Líon

The DERI Líon project will combine and harness the power of Web Services and the Semantic Web. The end result will be a scalable semantics-based Web Service environment where business partners can seamlessly share services across dynamic business communities. [more]
